We would never purposefully expose or sell your personal data, however we do use common internet services (like Google Analytics) which use your metadata to power their products. What Information does ShipGud Collect?

Information You Provide to Us:

We receive and may store information you knowingly provide to us. For example, by creating a shipping label through our website, we may collect personal information such as the return address and destination address of your label. We may use information you give to our payment providers for customer research purposes. We will only email you for marketing purposes if you have signed up for our newsletter.

Information Collected:

Whenever you interact with our Services, we receive and record information on our server logs from your browser or device, which may include your IP address, geolocation data, device identification, cookies, the type of browser and/or device you’re using to access our Services, length of time on the site, how often you have used the Service and other circumstantial data.

Through cookies we place on your browser or device, we may collect information about your online activity after you leave our Services.

How do we use the information?

We use gathered Personal Information internally in connection with our Services, including to personalize, provide, and improve our services, to contact you to fulfill your requests for certain products and services, and to analyze how you use the Services. Will ShipGud Share Any of the Personal Information it Receives?

We do not rent or sell your Personal Information in personally identifiable form to anyone. We may share your Personal Information with third parties as described in this section:

Information that’s been de-identified: We may de-identify your Personal Information so that you are not identified as an individual, and provide that information to our partners. We may also provide aggregate usage information to our partners (or allow partners to collect that information from you), who may use such information to understand how often and in what ways people use our Services, so that they, too, can provide you with an optimal online experience.

Advertisers: We allow advertisers and/or merchant partners to choose the demographic information of users who will see their advertisements and/or promotional offers and you agree that we may provide any of the information we have collected from you in non-personally identifiable form to an Advertiser, in order for that Advertiser to select the appropriate audience for those advertisements and/or offers. For example, we might use the fact you are located in San Francisco to show you or others ads or offers for San Francisco businesses.

Vendors, Service Providers and Affiliated Businesses: We employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your information with them to provide products or services to you, including payment processing companies that receive and process your credit card transactions for us. Also, services related to data storage, hosting, analysis and package delivery such as FedEx, UPS and USPS. Unless we tell you differently, our agents do not have any right to use the Personal Information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us.

Business Transfers: We may choose to buy or sell assets, and may share and/or transfer customer information in connection with the evaluation of and entry into such transactions. Also, if we (or our assets) are acquired, or if we go out of business, enter bankruptcy, or go through some other change of control, Personal Information could be one of the assets transferred to or acquired by a third party.

Protection of ShipGud and Others: We reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information that we believe is necessary to comply with law or court order; enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of ShipGud, our employees, our users, or others.

USPS Privacy Act Statement: Your information will be used to facilitate the purchase of postage and to fulfill transactional reporting requirements for Postal Service postage systems. Collection is authorized by 39 U.S.C. 401, 403, and 404. Providing the information is voluntary, but if not provided, your transaction may not be processed. The Postal Service does not disclose your information to third parties without your consent, except to facilitate the transaction, to act on your behalf or request, or as legally required. This includes the following limited circumstances: to a congressional office on your behalf; to financial entities regarding financial transaction issues; to a US Postal Service auditor; to entities, including law enforcement, as required by law or in legal proceedings; and to contractors and other entities aiding us to fulfill the service (service providers). Is Personal Information about me secure?

We use all appropriate technical, organizational and administrative security measures to protect any information we hold in our records from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Unfortunately, no company or service can guarantee complete security. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of user information at any time.

What Personal Information can I access?

We currently do not offer account creation and therefore there is no way to access or change information you have provided to the service. You may contact us about deleting sensitive information.
